Ryan Timoney

Associate

Ryan Timoney has been an attorney with Beam Legal Team since 2016. Advocating on behalf of victims of brain injury and other catastrophic injuries, Ryan devotes his practice to complex medical malpractice litigation with a particular focus on children who have suffered birth injuries. Teaming with Jack Beam and Matthew Patterson, Ryan has fought to hold hospitals, doctors, and nurses accountable for their mistakes, successfully recovering millions for victims across the United States.

Prior to joining Beam Legal Team, Ryan graduated with honors from The John Marshall Law School. During law school Ryan was elected Managing Editor of the John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law, overseeing every aspect of publication. Before law school, Ryan attended Bradley University, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. Ryan’s technical background has been key to his success, helping him to understand the science and giving him a unique perspective to the law. As both a litigator and independent consultant for other attorneys, Ryan has developed a particular expertise uncovering “lost” or altered electronic medical records.

Ryan’s interest in the law stems from his father, Tim, a well-respected criminal defense attorney in Springfield, Illinois. With a desire to litigate from a young age, Ryan is passionate about his work and is dedicated to being the voice for young children who have been harmed.

Ryan currently lives in the suburbs of Chicago with his wife and best friend, Laura, who is a Registered Nurse, and their son, Lachlan. While not practicing law, Ryan enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as playing golf, water skiing, and cheering on the local Chicago sports teams.

Ryan is licensed to practice law in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, and Michigan. He has been named Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in Illinois by The National Trial Lawyers. He is an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group. He has devoted his career to becoming an expert in birth injury cases, but would be happy to speak with you regarding any type of medical malpractice or personal injury case.
