Practice Areas:
Ryan Timoney is an attorney with Beam Legal Team. Ryan focuses his practice on complex medical malpractice litigation working on behalf of victims of brain injury and other catastrophic injuries. Ryan is particularly passionate about seeking justice on behalf of children and mothers across the United States who have suffered birth injuries. Teaming with Jack Beam and Matthew Patterson, Ryan has fought to hold hospitals, doctors, and nurses accountable for their mistakes, and has successfully helped numerous victims of negligence in recovering the compensation they require for their tremendous special needs.
Prior to joining Beam Legal Team, Ryan graduated with honors from The John Marshall Law School near the top of his class. During law school, Ryan joined the John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law, where he was elected Managing Editor and oversaw every aspect of the journal’s publications. Prior to law school, Ryan attended Bradley University, where he majored in mechanical engineering. As a mechanical engineer by training, Ryan’s scientific background and knowledge give him a unique perspective to the law, and particularly to birth injury cases. Ryan’s ability to understand the relevant science and medicine is key to his success in litigating complex medical malpractice cases.
From an early age, Ryan’s interest in the law stems from his father, Tim, a well-respected criminal defense attorney in Springfield, Illinois for past 30 years. His mother, Cindy, is a Registered Nurse working in the Oncology Unit at Springfield Clinic. Ryan currently lives in Chicago with his wife and best friend, Laura, who is a Nurse Clinical Manager of Operations at Rush University Medical Center. While not practicing law, Ryan enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as playing golf, water skiing, and cheering on the local Chicago sports teams.
Ryan is licensed to practice law in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, and Michigan. He is an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Birth Trauma Litigation Group. Ryan specializes in birth injury cases with Beam Legal Team, but would be happy to speak with you regarding any type of medical malpractice or personal injury case.
