Oh, what would the internet be without our silly cats? September is Happy Cat Month, a time when cat aficionados everywhere get to show their appreciation for our feline friends. If you have a cat at home, this is the purr-fect month for extra treats, excessive cuddles, and some sweet little boops on the nose (but only if they want it!).

At Beam Legal Team, our dedication to our animal companions is part of our broader mission of compassion and advocacy, and our desire to protect and help the most vulnerable among us, be they animals or victims of negligence. This year, our celebration includes recognizing a significant milestone in animal welfare within our community. Read on to learn more!

Chicago Anti-Cruelty’s Legacy

Once upon a time, the streets of Chicago were filled with over 100,000 work horses. Many of them endured harsh conditions, and they didn’t have an advocate to look out for their well-being. Inspired to make a difference, Rose Fay Thomas founded Chicago Anti-Cruelty, thus initiating a legacy of compassion that has thrived for 125 years.

Beam Legal Team was proud to participate in this year’s Anti-Cruelty Gala, where we continue to support Rose’s vision over a century later. Our involvement underscores a long-standing commitment to safeguarding both animals and the people who care for them when they are put at risk.

The Renee Beam & Irene Bittner Cat Adoption Center

As part of Beam Legal Team’s support for Chicago Anti-Cruelty, we were thrilled to support the opening of the Renee Beam & Irene Bittner Cat Adoption Center. This state-of-the-art facility, made possible by the generous support of our very own Renee Beam and dedicated in honor of her mother, Irene Bittner, represents a milestone in animal care and adoption services. Designed with compassion at its core, the center aims to foster lifelong bonds between cats and their new families, ensuring every cat enjoys the love and comfort they deserve.

Beam Legal Team’s Commitment to Compassion

At Beam Legal Team, our love for animals who can’t speak for themselves mirrors our commitment to the community. Whether it’s supporting global initiatives like Doctors Without Borders, local endeavors like the Greater Chicago Food Depository, or families and children wronged by negligent doctors, our actions are guided by a deep-rooted belief in advocacy and service.

The opening of the Renee Beam & Irene Bittner Cat Adoption Center is just one of the many ways we strive to make a tangible difference, reflecting our belief that compassion, whether towards people or pets, is at the heart of all we do.
